About the Pieces
The salmon is the major food source for the coastal people. It is so generous that it gives it's life freely so that people can survive along with the birds/animals that feed from it. Salmon is a gift from the creator to the people. The salmon teaches us that no matter how far we stray in life there is an innate sense of how to find our way back to where we come from. The salmon travels many miles in it's life, and only will return to the stream from where it came. It also shows us how determination can overcome any struggle as it swims upstream to find the right place.
