Lighting/Projection Designer

Craig is a Technical Director, Designer and Technologist based out of Vancouver, BC. He has been working professionally for over 20 years with many different theatre and dance companies and his work has been seen across Canada as well as internationally. Recent Chemainus Theatre credits include Footloose (Sound), Million Dollar Quartet (Lighting), Grace and Glorie (Set), and Over the River and Through the Woods



Once, *Dora award, Needfire (Mirvish), 42nd Street (Broadway National Tour), Anne of Green Gables (Charlottetown Festival), Taking the A Train (Soulpepper Theatre Company). Stephanie has played with symphony orchestras all over North America and toured with many different bands including Belle Starr, the Chieftains and Bowfire. So much love to my incredible family xo



David is thrilled to be making his Chemainus Theatre debut in Once! Select theatre credits include: Circle Game (Firehall), Crazy For You, Fiddler On The Roof (Gateway), Posh, Heathers (Fighting Chance Productions). An Ovation Award winner, David has performed all around the Lower Mainland as a singer and musician, and studied at UBC and Lancaster University’s Institute for the Contemporary Arts (UK). For my friends and family for their unparalleled support.



Masae previously appeared at Chemainus in Dracula, and A Pretty Girl. Other favourite theatre: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Carousel), The Country Wife (Ensemble Theatre Company), and Mozart & Salieri (Seven Tyrants). As a musician: The Tempest (Bard on the Beach); live sound design for The Glass Menagerie (Fire Escape). Selected Film/TV: Supernatural, Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, and Ms. Matched. Masae is a graduate of UVic (BMus), TOOBA, and Studio 58.



Alison is delighted to be back at Chemainus Theatre again. In Vancouver, Alison is an artistic associate with Firepot Performance, and recently appeared in their production of Julie McIsaac’s The Out Vigil. In Saskatchewan, she has recently worked with Persephone Theatre, Station Arts, and Sum Theatre. Alison plays in several bands, and teaches at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music and at Arts Umbrella.


Set Designer

Lauchlin is thrilled to be returning to Chemainus Theatre Festival after set designing for Footloose The Musical in 2016. Lauchlin is a Vancouver-based designer with designs seen across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario with companies including Gateway, Firehall Arts Centre, Arts Club Theatre, and Mortal Coil. He has received thirteen Jessie Richardson Award Nominations and two wins, plus one Ovation Award.” Lauchlin is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada.


Stage Manager

Liz feels lucky and proud to be working on her dream show at her favourite theatre. This is Liz’s ninth show with Chemainus Theatre Festival. She has worked with several companies including the Arts Club, Globe Theatre, and the Stratford Festival. Next, Liz will tour the Yukon as Stage Manager for
The Unplugging (Gwaandak Theatre). Outside of the theatre Liz is an avid cross-stitcher, kayaker, and London Fog connoisseur. For the niece and the nephew for always



Daniel is thrilled to return to the Chemainus Theatre stage in Once. Selected credits: Million Dollar Quartet; Songs For a New World; You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown; Where’s Charley. Film music: A Very Country Christmas. Daniel lives in Toronto and is an acclaimed singer/songwriter. He’ll be in the lobby after the show with his CDs available, and a CD of popular folk songs for you to take home. Slàinte!



Allison works across Canada as an actor, singer, musical director and composer. Bank Manager

Jon-Alex is excited to revisit the Bank Manager in Once. He was part of the award winning Toronto cast, then completed the 1st U.S. National Tour. Past shows include: 12 Angry Men, Last Resort (Brampton), Fiddler on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, Guys and Dolls (StageWest), Miss Saigon, Joseph (Drayton), Robin Hood (Ross Petty), Forever Plaid (NewYorker), and many others. Thanks to his amazing wife Cat, and his girls Aly and Fiona.



Originally from Courtenay, this is Alex’s second contract with Chemainus Theatre, having just performed in the Cornwalls’ All-Inclusive Cancun Christmas. He has worked across Western Canada, and other theatre credits include Mary Poppins (WCT / Persephone); The Little Prince (Theatre Calgary); Les Misérables, Spamalot (Arts Club); Titanic, Anything Goes, Singin’ in the Rain (TUTS). Alex will be reprising his role in the upcoming Arts Club production of Once.


Costume Designer

Jessica is a Set and Costume Designer originally from Richmond, BC. She is an artist with skills ranging from scenic painting to puppetry, hat and mask building, and more. Recently, Jessica worked as a costume cutter on the NBC/SYFY TV show, The Magicians, season 3. She is a Jessie Richardson Award winning designer, the Assistant Head of Wardrobe for Bard on the Beach, and a graduate of Studio 58. Visit for more information.


Assistant Stage Manager

Jessica makes gin and theatre, usually as a stage manager. Once marks her 10th production with Chemainus Theatre. As a stage manager with a specialization in new work, she’s helped bring theatre to life behind the scenes from Victoria, BC to the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. She is also a playwright & director. Born and raised on Vancouver Island, she is proud of her Métis heritage and calls the Cowichan Valley home.


Music Director/Eamon/Emcee

Kraig is thrilled to be back in Chemainus, having previously appeared in Ring of Fire, Buddy Holly, Rock Legends, and Million Dollar Quartet, which he also musically directed. Kraig works as a musician, actor, singer, songwriter & music director all across Canada. As always, all my love to Stephanie and little Cæleigh. Thank you for supporting Canadian theatre. Mark is delighted to be making his debut here at Chemainus. Originally from Vancouver, he has performed in plays and musicals in theatres across Canada and the United States as well as Scotland, England, Ireland, and Israel. Recent favourites include Dr. Watson in Baskerville! at the Arts Club, Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast (Port Hope) Mr. Banks in Mary Poppins (Persephone/WCTC) Rothko in Red (Magnus), Bella Zangler in Crazy for You.
